  • Maintain your diet, body weight, and physical activity: Maintaining a healthy diet and weight, doing exercise is crucial for your overall health and prevents cancer causing agents.
  • Avoid Alcohol: Heavy alcohol use can lead to pancreatic cancer in some studies. It is also linked to conditions such as chronic pancreatitis, which is known to increase pancreatic cancer risk. Not having alcohol at all is best or having 1 drink per day for women or 2 drinks per day for men.
  • Limiting exposure to certain chemicals in the workplace: Avoiding exposure on workplace to certain chemicals may reduce your risk for pancreatic cancer.

Treatment Options

For localized tumors that can be resected, surgery is the treatment of choice followed by adjuvant chemotherapy.

For borderline resectable Neoadjuvant chemotherapy for 4-6 months followed by surgery is preferred.

For unresectable or metastatic cancers, chemotherapy is the preferred option of treatment. In patients with molecular testing showing MSI-H / d-MMR Immunotherapy with Pembrolizumab can be considered.
